Phillip B. Klingler: "This one’s a bit overwhelming in the best way. The whole environment clatters and constantly shifts, making it hard to latch onto any single element, creating a fascinating, almost hypnotic effect. Howard’s tape-derived sounds sit right up front, pushing and provoking everything around them. Parker Weston’s saxophone appears on three tracks as a standout voice, sometimes fluttering bird-like, sometimes screaming with intensity, and paired with Rutger Van Driel’s otherworldly trombone and FX, adds a sharp and distinctive edge. Most of my contributions come from turntables (though you might not guess it), shaping textures that range from frenetic density to spacious, ambient drift. Each track carves its own path, making the album a varied and unpredictable listen."
